Viv C. Jones, Brewmaster

Viv Jones is a Master Brewer (M.Sc. – Brewing Science, Birmingham Brewing School) and began his career working as a Brewer and Brewery Engineer. A three-year stint as Head Brewer in Cockermouth, Cumbria, brewing “Real Ales”, was followed by 12 years international consulting experience with Heineken and Whitbread in Africa and Asia.

Arriving in Canada in 1986, Viv was influential in the development of craft beers in Ontario, including Upper Canada Brewing Company and Northern Algonquin. Viv is one of the few true-craft brewmasters and ensures Great Western Brewing Company brews some of the greatest tasting beers in the world, right here on the prairies.
