Official Contest Rules

1. How to Strike Gold

Look inside specially marked “Strike Gold” Great Western Brewing 24 can packs for one of twenty four winning cans. Winning cans will be easily identifiable with the words “You’ve struck gold!” clearly printed on them, in addition to Great Western Brewing’s contact information. Winning cans will not be filled with beer – instead they are to be redeemed undamaged to Great Western Brewing to receive a 24k (solid, pure gold), one ounce troy Great Western commemorative medallion.

2. Contest Dates:

Contest starts Monday, April 28, 2008 at 12:01 AM Central Standard Time, and ends on Monday, September 8, 2008 at 11:59 PM Central Standard Time (the “Contest Closing Date”).

3. Odds of Winning:

Odds of winning a medallion: 1 in 15,000. Odds may change based the number of medallions already found throughout the contest period. Limit: one (1) prize per household. Return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner.

4. Eligibility:

  1. No purchase, expenditure or investment is necessary to enter this contest.
  2. This contest is open to residents of Saskatchewan who are 19 years of age or older, except employees (and members of their immediate family) of the Great Western Brewing Company. You are not eligible if you are an employee of Great Western Brewing Company (the “promoter”), its affiliates, or its advertising and/or promotions agencies; ii) an employee or subcontractor of the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority, a beer distribution company, or a participating establishment authorized to sell alcohol; or iii) a member of the immediate family (spouse, brother, sister, son, daughter, mother, father, or cousin) or in the same household of any person included above.

5. No Purchase Necessary:

Contest starts Monday, April 28, 2008 at 12:01 AM Central Standard Time, and ends on Monday, September 8, 2008 at 11:59 PM Central Standard Time (the “Contest Closing Date”).

To enter by mail, print your complete name, address, town/city, Province, postal code, age, telephone number, and email address and mail with a postage paid, addressed, return envelope to: Great Western Brewing, RE: Strike Gold, 519 Second Avenue North, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada S7K 2C6.

One mail-in entry per envelope with sufficient postage. Great Western Brewing is not responsible for any mail-in entries that are lost, misdirected, illegible, damaged, incomplete, late or mutilated.

Note: Mailed-in entries for the Strike Gold draw must be received by 11:59 p.m. EST, June 2, 2008 to be eligible to win. Entrants must meet all eligibility requirements.

Great Western reserves the right to substitute a medallion with the equivalent monetary value as of contest start date (closing market price on April 25, 2008 of one ounce troy in CDN dollars).

6. Prize:

There are twenty four (24) Grand prizes available to be won which are Great Western Brewing commemorative medallions that are 24 karat (pure, solid gold) weighing one ounce troy. Medallions will be delivered to the winner’s residence within eight (8) weeks of being declared a winner. Approximate value depends on current commodity market prices of gold. Value as of close of market on April 14, 2008 was US $923.15. Before being declared a winner, an eligible entrant will be required to correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question which will be administered over the phone. If the entrant does not correctly answer the skill-testing question within the specified time, the prize will be forfeited. Twenty four (24) winning cans have been seeded randomly throughout the contest period. Prize may not be exactly as shown.

7. Personal Information:

By entering this contest, each entrant consents to the use of his/her name, address, voice, and/or photograph in any publicity including but not limited to the Internet, carried out by Great Western Brewing Company and/or its advertising agencies, without further compensation. Winners consent to their photograph being taken by Great Western Brewing Company for such use, without further compensation. Personal information will not otherwise be used or disclosed without consent.

8. Right to Terminate or Amend:

Subject to the approval of the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority, the Sponsor reserves the right, entirely at its discretion, to terminate this contest or modify it at any time, without notice, if any factor whatsoever interferes with the normal administration thereof in compliance with these official rules.

9. Miscellaneous:

  1. Entrants who have not complied with these Official Rules are subject to disqualification from this Contest and any future contest or other promotion conducted by Sponsor. Prize will only be released to verified winners. All decisions of the Sponsor, or any contest judging organization as designated by them, are final and binding in all matters relating to this Contest. No correspondence will be entered into except with selected entrants. Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws.
  2. Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify, from this Contest and any future Contest or other promotion conducted by Sponsor, any individual that it finds or believes to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest; to be acting in violation of the Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person.
  3. It is not the intention of Great Western Brewing Company Ltd. to use this promotion in any way to encourage excessive consumption of alcohol. Please drink responsibly.
  4. This contest will be run in accordance with these rules, subject to amendment, cancellation or suspension in accordance with these rules, by the Great Western Brewing Company. Entrants must comply with these rules, and will be deemed to have received and understood the rules if they participate in the contest.
  5. The terms of this contest, as set out in these rules, are not subject to amendment or counter-offer, except as set out herein.
