Great Western Brewing’s “Beer Chill Factor” program submission deadline announced

Saskatoon, SK – Overwhelmed by the immense interest in the “Beer Chill Factor” program, Great Western Brewing has set a research proposal deadline of 5:00 pm CST (6:00 EST) on Friday Feb 29th, 2008.

In the very short time since Great Western Brewing’s request for research proposals made international headlines, the internationally award-winning brewer has been overwhelmed by hundreds of great responses. Some very technical. Some very research based. Some very McGyverish. And of course, some that were very, very odd.

After the submission period is closed, Great Western Brewing’s panel of reviewers will go through all the qualified entries and determine who contributed the most to the pursuit of solving one of Canada’s most important challenges.

Issue: In view of the recent extreme cold temperatures being recorded in the Prairies, Great Western Brewing has invited interested parties to submit applications for a “Beer Chill” study.

At stake: In the last couple of days there’s been a lot of talk about the extremely cold temperatures and especially wind chill. But when you brew some of the best beer in the world, which our award-winning beer is – you become concerned with something more important: the ‘Beer Chill’ factor.

Challenge: Great Western Brewing would like interested parties to submit study plans regarding the impact of cold temperature and wind chill in correlation with our standard carton materials to better understand chill times.

Why: Simple. Because one frozen Great Western beer is one too many.
